THE PERSON BEHIND AUDACIOUS EWE
I’ve had yarn in my hands for as long as I can remember.
It started when I was little, helping my mum and godmother wind yarn and, eventually, being taught how to use the needles myself. Fast forward 40 odd years and apparently I still can’t get enough!
Knitting and crochet have been part of my life for a very long time, but it wasn’t until 2022 that I started looking at things a little differently.
I became chronically ill and, in the process, lost a lot of the things I’d thought were important. Suddenly, the corporate slog didn’t seem quite so important anymore. It made me stop and think about what I actually wanted to spend my time doing.
Turns out, the answer involved quite a lot of yarn.

How Audacious Ewe Began
So I decided to have a go at doing something for myself.
That something became Audacious Ewe.
It started with designing my own knitting patterns and has grown into a little corner of the knitting world where I can bring together the things I love — patterns, yarn, useful little notions and, now, my own hand-dyed yarn.
When I design a pattern, I want it to be something you’ll actually enjoy making. I like giving you options where I can, whether that’s different sizes, yarn weights or a bit of extra help along the way. My patterns are tested before they’re released, and I’ll add tutorials when I think they’ll save you from staring angrily at your knitting.
The yarn is the newest part of the adventure. I dye in small batches, creating colourways inspired by all sorts of things — nature, books, music, places, memories and whatever else catches my imagination. I love taking an idea and turning it into colour, knowing that eventually someone else might take that yarn and turn it into something completely their own.
Audacious Ewe is still very much a small independent business. There’s no big team behind the scenes. If you send a message, it’s me at the other end. If you buy one of my patterns, I designed it. If you buy one of my skeins, I dyed it. And if you need help with something, just give me a shout.
A Little Corner of the Internet, Without the Ads
I want Audacious Ewe to be more than somewhere to shop. I’m building a growing collection of knitting resources, calculators, tutorials and pattern support that are genuinely useful — and free for everyone to use.
I’ve also made the decision to keep the website free from advertising. No pop-ups trying to sell you something completely unrelated to knitting, no sponsored boxes wedged between instructions, and no fighting your way through ads just to find the bit you actually came for.
