Frequently Asked Questions
Got a question? You might find the answer below. If not, give me a shout — I’m always happy to help.
Orders & Delivery
How quickly will my order be dispatched?
Ready-to-ship items are usually packed and dispatched within 2–3 working days. Made-to-order and dyed-to-order items take a little longer, and the estimated turnaround time will be shown on the individual product page.
If your order contains a mixture of ready-to-ship and made-to-order or dyed-to-order items, your order will be dispatched together once everything is ready.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. International shipping is available to selected destinations, with available delivery options and costs shown at checkout.
Orders to the United States are sent duty paid. For other international destinations, customs duties, import taxes or handling fees may apply where these haven’t been collected at checkout.
How can I track my order?
Once your order has been dispatched, you’ll receive confirmation by email. If your chosen delivery service includes tracking, your tracking details will be included there too.
My order hasn’t arrived — what should I do?
Check your tracking information first, where available. If your order appears significantly delayed or you’re worried it may have gone missing, get in touch and I’ll help you work out what’s happened.
Patterns & Downloads
Where will I find my PDF pattern?
Once your payment has been successfully processed, your PDF pattern will be made available electronically. You’ll receive your download details by email. If you have an account, you can also find your available patterns under My Account → Downloads.
How many times can I download my pattern?
Each purchased PDF includes 3 downloads. Once you’ve downloaded your pattern, please save the PDF to your device rather than using the download link each time.
I’ve used all three downloads. What do I do?
No worries! Email sales@audaciousewe.co.uk with your order number and I’ll happily reset your downloads for you.
I can’t find my download email. What should I do?
First, check your spam or junk folder and make sure you’re checking the email address used when placing your order.
If you still can’t find it, get in touch with your order details and I’ll help you locate your pattern.
Can I return or exchange a digital pattern?
Because PDF patterns are digital products, different cancellation rules apply once downloading has begun. You can find the full details in the Returns & Cancellations policy.
If there’s a problem with your file, you’ve received the wrong pattern or you’re having trouble accessing it, please get in touch.
Can I print my pattern?
Absolutely. You can use the PDF digitally or print a copy for your own personal use.
Can I share my PDF pattern with someone else?
Please don’t. Your purchase is for your personal use only, so the PDF shouldn’t be copied, shared, emailed to others or redistributed.
Yarn & Hand-Dyed Goodness
Will my yarn look exactly like the photograph?
Hand-dyed yarn is gloriously individual, so no two skeins will ever be completely identical. There may be slight variations in colour and placement between skeins, even when they’re dyed together in the same batch.
I do my best to photograph colourways as accurately as possible, but colours can also appear slightly different depending on your screen.
I need more than one skein. Will they match?
Where possible, skeins ordered together will be selected from the same dye batch. There can still be small variations between hand-dyed skeins, so if you’re using more than one in a project, I recommend alternating skeins for the most even result.
What does dyed to order mean?
Dyed-to-order yarn is dyed especially for you after you place your order rather than being taken from ready-to-ship stock.
The estimated turnaround time will always be shown on the product page before you order.
How should I wash my hand-dyed yarn?
Always follow the care instructions supplied with your yarn. In general, I recommend gentle hand washing in cool water with a suitable wool wash, then laying your finished item flat to dry.
Some colour release can occur during the first few washes, particularly with highly saturated colours, so wash separately where appropriate.
Will hand-dyed yarn bleed?
I thoroughly rinse my yarn as part of the dyeing process, but a small amount of colour release can occasionally occur, particularly with intense or highly saturated shades.
If you’re combining very dark or saturated yarn with a pale colour, I recommend making and washing a swatch first.
Can I order a colourway on a different yarn base?
Where possible, absolutely. Available bases will depend on what I have in stock, and the same colourway can look slightly different on different fibres and yarn constructions.
Get in touch if there’s a combination you’re after and I’ll let you know what’s possible.
Does my yarn arrive ready to knit with?
Yarn is supplied in hanks rather than balls, so it will need to be wound into a ball or cake before you start knitting or crocheting. Please don’t try to work directly from the hank — unless you particularly enjoy untangling yarn for several hours.
Where can I find information about your yarn bases?
You can find full details of Audacious Ewe yarn bases on the Yarn Bases page, including fibre content, yarn weight, meterage, recommended needle sizes and other useful information to help you choose the right yarn for your project.
Pattern Support
I’m stuck with one of your patterns. Can you help?
Absolutely. If something isn’t making sense, get in touch and I’ll do my best to help.
Please tell me which pattern you’re working on, which size/yarn weight or variation you’re making, and the round/row or instruction you’re stuck on. That makes it much easier for me to work out what’s going on.
I think I’ve found an error in a pattern. What should I do?
Please let me know! Despite patterns being carefully checked and tested, the occasional mistake can slip through.
Send me the pattern name, page number and the instruction you think may be incorrect, and I’ll check it.
How will I know if a pattern has been updated?
If I make a correction or important update to a pattern, the current PDF available through Audacious Ewe will be updated.
Can I sell items I’ve made from your patterns?
Yes! You’re welcome to sell finished items that you’ve made from Audacious Ewe patterns.
If you’re advertising or listing your finished items for sale, I’d really appreciate it if you credited Audacious Ewe as the pattern designer.
The pattern itself, including its written instructions, photographs and other content, remains protected by copyright and must not be copied, shared, redistributed, altered or sold.
