Description
The Ella Booties are a sweet and versatile baby bootie knitting pattern written in three sizes and four yarn weights, giving you plenty of options for creating the perfect tiny pair.
The pattern was originally designed in collaboration with Two Little Rainbows for use with their faux suede bootie soles in the two smallest sizes. Alternatively, you can knit the soles directly from the pattern. For the 6–12 month size, a knitted sole is the only option given.
Please note: The pre-made faux suede soles are not recommended for babies who are walking.

Method ~
When using pre-made soles, a crochet hook is used to pull the yarn through the sole before the main body of the bootie is knitted seamlessly in the round.
You can use your preferred method for working small circumferences, including DPNs, two circular needles, magic loop or flexible needles.
When making the booties entirely from yarn, the sole section is knitted flat in rows before continuing with the rest of the bootie.
Sizes ~
0–3 months – 9 cm / 3.5″ long
3–6 months – 10 cm / 4″ long
6–12 months – 11.5 cm / 4.5″ long

You can substitute another yarn provided you meet the stated gauge and achieve a suitable fabric.
Gauge ~
Aran/Worsted: 22 sts × 30 rnds = 10 cm / 4″; WPI 11
Chunky: 18 sts × 26 rnds = 10 cm / 4″; WPI 8
Light Super Chunky: 14 sts × 20 rnds = 10 cm / 4″; WPI 7
Super Chunky: 10 sts × 16 rnds = 10 cm / 4″; WPI 6
Gauge is measured in stockinette worked in the round using the larger recommended needle size for each yarn weight. Measurements should be taken unstretched and unblocked.
