Description
The New Leaf Booties are an adorable baby bootie knitting pattern designed to match the New Leaf Beanies, featuring the same distinctive leaf stitch around the cuff.
The pattern is written for two yarn weights — Light Super Chunky and Super Chunky — and three sizes from 0–3 months through to 6–12 months. Choose between a completely knitted sole or use the gorgeous faux-suede soles available from Two Little Rainbows. There’s also a bonus baby mitten pattern included, so you can create a complete matching New Leaf set.
The sole, body and cuff can be worked in contrasting colours too, making these little booties perfect for using up smaller amounts of yarn.
Skill Level ~
Adventurous beginner. Picture and video tutorials are included to help you every step of the way.
Method ~
When using the faux-suede soles, a crochet hook is used to pull the yarn through the sole before the main body is knitted seamlessly in the round.
When making the completely knitted version, the sole is worked flat before continuing with the body of the bootie. You can use DPNs, magic loop, two circular needles or your preferred method for working small circumferences in the round.
