The A New Leaf Headband and Brim Beanie is a versatile mosaic knitting pattern packed with options. Featuring the distinctive leaf stitch from the New Leaf family, it’s a quick and enjoyable knit with plenty of opportunities to make it your own.
Choose between a cosy mosaic headband or brim beanie, five yarn weights from Aran/Worsted through to Super Chunky, and either a decorative Latvian braid or garter-stitch edge. Adult instructions are included alongside guidance for adapting the design for babies and children, making this a brilliant pattern for matching family sets, gifts and market makes.
Because the mosaic colourwork is created using slipped stitches, you’ll only work with one colour at a time. Written instructions, picture tutorials and video tutorials are included to help you every step of the way.

Method ~
The headband is knitted from the bottom up in the round using two colours and the mosaic knitting technique.
Choose between a Latvian braid or garter-stitch edge, with additional instructions for transforming the headband into a brim beanie. Guidance is also included for making sizes from newborn through to child.

Adult
Approximately 21.5 cm / 8.5″ wide × 21.5 cm / 8.5″ tall.
To fit an adult head circumference of approximately 56 cm / 22″–61 cm / 24″.
