Description
The Solia Booties are the lighter-weight version of the Audacious Ewe baby booties, written in Aran/Worsted and Chunky yarn for three sizes from 0–12 months.
They’re also a brilliant little scrap-yarn project, with the option to work the sole, body and cuff in contrasting colours to use up smaller amounts from your stash.
The pattern was designed in collaboration with Two Little Rainbows for use with their faux suede bootie soles. Alternatively, you can knit the soles directly from the pattern.
Skill Level ~
Adventurous beginner. Picture and video tutorials are included to help you through the techniques.
Method ~
When using pre-made soles, a crochet hook is used to pull the yarn through the sole before the main body is knitted seamlessly in the round.
When making the booties entirely from yarn, the sole is worked flat in rows before continuing with the body. You can use your preferred method for working small circumferences, including DPNs, circular needles or magic loop.

All yarn amounts are approximate. You can substitute another yarn provided you meet the stated gauge and achieve a suitable fabric.
Gauge ~
Aran/Worsted: 22 sts × 30 rnds = 10 cm / 4″; WPI 11
Chunky: 18 sts × 26 rnds = 10 cm / 4″; WPI 8
